Re: It might be me but extra penalty on time violation is stupid.

Glah. While I am fine with the time penalty, being kicked after playing 2 eagles on the last turn of the game stings 172, highest score ever, and 'lost' the game. Pretty sure I was within a few sec of finishing on time too....

Re: Questions on differences between 2,3,4,5

Generally, if a game goes past 10 generations, players who engine-build and play VP will tend to win. At 2p, this is basically always, so 2p games are a bit boring. (Last 2p game was 189 to 85, mostly because I ended the game early to get to bed). For 3p+, if you have enough players who will switch ...

Re: Opinions on 3P Kingmaking

Maybe it works as a priority list 1. Win, if possible 2. Improve placement, if possible 3. Improve 'score' including tiebreakers relative to other players, if possible 4. Play in character for the game, generally maximizing amusement value (Somewhat different for Illuminati and Suburbia) 5. Maximize...

Re: Opinions on 3P Kingmaking

For the fast / engine setup, I'll tend to minimize my loss point differential - ie - in these cases - usually fast terraforming. Kind of feels like the way the game is meant to be played. Also, usually a bit more based on card draw, so, a mildly better chance of catching up.

Re: Opinions on 3P Kingmaking

The greenery placement example is relatively simple - I tend to maximize my score in cases of doubt. A harder case would be one where I had a choice of two actions with equivalent victory points for me which would decide first and second place. Feels bad, but relatively rare. I'd tend to place to ma...

Re: Others expansions

I would love to see Hellas - the variety is great.
Colonies also adds a lot to the game.
On a personal note, I'd like to try Turmoil, so there's that.
Venus seems lower priority.

Re: This implementation is horribly buggy, slow, and poorly designed.

If you benchmark relative to the mobile app, I'd estimate this implementation as blazingly fast and extremely reliable. The developers are awesome. That said, when playing in an area with poor internet, I did need to reload a few times over the course of a long 'high growth' game. Worked well though.

Re: Turn timer seems generous

Maybe, but at 5 turns per generation and 10 generations, that game can take 2 hours per player. I hope there is some way to tune it down.

Turn timer seems generous

I don't know if it is a beta thing, but the turn timer seems to be giving roughly 2 min per turn.
While there are some turns that need thought, the average turn should be a fair bit faster than that.

Also, love the game. And the implementation is buttery smooth compared to the asmodee app.

Re: Is expelling from game on last turn reportable?

Eh. I personally won't kick until it is clear someone has quit. Just doesn't seem fun. It'd violate the social contract for anyone I played with regularly. That said, random strangers on the Internet are not people I play with regularly. So, if you join a fast game, you're agreeing to play fast. Tha...
