Minimum six?

I used to love playing these puzzles solo. I would take a break from work to spend a few minutes solving a puzzle, then get back to whatever I was doing on my computer. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to eliminate "1" as an option for how many games to play? Now I can't play fewer ...

Options description

It's great that this game is on BGA -- it's one of my favorites. It would be nice to have the different options explained somewhere -- I couldn't find a description anywhere on the main page. What is "Initiation Game" -- is it the same as an "introductory game" in the English rul...

Re: Confused by demo

Just checking in to see if there's been any response to this problem yet. The game isn't really worth playing in its current state, IMO, when we can't tell what happened at the end of each round.

Re: Suggested Improvement: Continual Scoring

It doesn't require any memory. You can always just scroll back and replay the game, or if you really care, write down whenever someone gets points. It's just an annoyance. Playing an asynchronous game online is a different experience than playing an in-person game. It doesn't make sense to try to us...

Re: First player advantage

Also, since first player only puts down one piece, they can only play one of their summoning cards on their second turn if they happen to start with a card that lets them do a summoning with only two pieces. Each faction only has one or two cards that can do that, and if second player knows the card...

Re: Confused by demo

OK, I've played a full game now, and the problem remains. In the turn-by-turn running record of the game, marriages seem to get skipped. When the game ended, I couldn't really tell which of us the lady had picked or who was the dandiest. All of that information ought to appear in the running account...

Re: Progressive Score

I would like it if open scoring was an option. IMO this is one of the differences between playing online and playing on a tabletop. With the tabletop version, memory comes into play, and there are mnemonic tricks I practice if there is info that I need to keep track of. In an online turn-based game,...

Re: Agriculture card

This is mainly a response to the previous post... Yeah, Agriculture is actually a pretty terrible way of scoring points in Age I. You're basically taking two actions to score 2 points, with nothing to show for it on your board. It's the pits. If I draw it, I usually don't even bother playing it then...

Confused by demo

I read the rules and thought that I understood how the game worked pretty well. Then I read the demo game/replay log here: https://boardgamearena.com/archive/replay/210929-0932/?table=208443529&player=85215886&comments= and became much more confused. The demo would be far more useful if the ...

Negative/positive

I was just trying to teach this to someone who got very confused. The rules definitely say that cards are positive, chips are negative, and the winner has the lowest score. However, this version seems to reverse that, with everyone's score negative and the highest score winning. Why not follow the r...
