I also experience this. Same browser. I was noticing it a lot at one time so switched to playing on desktop. Now I just deal with it, since it seems localized to just a few games. I know Teotihuacan is one that is particularly bad in this regard.

I have to say the update that now shows, during game play, the little fire icon or mummy icon when those options are selected is perfect! So many times I started a game and forgot whether the curse was on or off, for instance, but now I can tell. Kudos!
