Re: Eggplant bug

The requirement for playing eggplant is that you have an artichoke in your hand. If you don't, you can't play it.
You can trade away zero or one card and get two. If that really doesn't work, file a bug report, please, with a table and move where the play was not possible.

2-player tournament only?

Recently a bug report was filed against Abandon All Artichokes (AAA) because there is no tiebreaker for second and further places (The winner is clear.) https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=50874 I"m especially confused since I read in the FAQ: Can I create tournaments for any games on the website...

question about tournaments

Recently a bug report was filed against Abandon All Artichokes (AAA) because there is no tiebreaker for second and further places (The winner is clear.) https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=50874 I don't know anything about tournaments on BGA. Where can I read more about them? Adding the tiebreakers as...

animation: cards moving mutliple times

Hi! During a player's action, a card may move multiple times (first to a played area, causing other cards to move, then to a discard). The backend goes through this step by step, sending move notifications to the frontend for each card moved. The js frontend then calls appropriate addToStockWithId o...

Abandon All Artichokes now available in Beta

Hi! Abandon All Artichokes, Emma Larkins' deck destruction game with vegetables, is now available in Beta! It is a quick and fun game where you try getting rid of the artichokes in your deck. A turn is simple: add a card to your deck (harvest it from the garden row), then play any or all cards in yo...

Re: Getting language from JS?

Thank you for the detailed comments!

I went with the 'switch (_("en"))' solution because that way the language of the cards is chosen by the same setting that decides the displayed texts.

Re: Getting language from JS?

It seems I'll be getting images for different language versions of a game (the graphics differ, so it's not just text replacement), so I want to display the correct images for the language. Not sure how else to do that than to turn preloading off and then load the proper images for the language base...

Getting language from JS?

Hi!

Is there a variable I can check on the client side to find out the user's requested language?

Thanks,
Thomas

Re: Abandon All Artichokes now available in Alpha

Hi again! I've released an update to Abandon All Artichokes last night. The changes to the previous version are: - Add Rhubarb promo card - Add user-requested option to play with public artichoke counts - Show artichokes at left of hand, so other vegetables are on top. This way, at least one other v...

Re: Abandon All Artichokes now available in Alpha

Thanks, Dave2020!

Try playing with the 'automatic turn end' option turned on, then a player's turn will automatically end when only artichokes are left in their hand.

I find it confusing for new players, that's why it's off by default.
