On Android phone, when I go to "chat" I can't get back to the game.

On Android phone, when I go to "chat" I can't get back to the game. Then I have to restart the game, which makes me lose time and points for doing my turn slowly. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong, and how to get from chat back to the game. Thank you.
