Re: Can't use ironworks action?

Iron works has a RED arrow, therefore it is a main action. To activate it, besides having an energy cube, you need to: - At the start of your turn select Action - Then do one support action as usual. You cannot select Iron Works here since it is not a support action. So just roll a die, convert one ...

Re: ELO is fine. BGA Hearts is a different game than traditional Hearts.

You don’t even have to revamp the ELO—just leave that, but completely disconnect it from matchmaking. Just match people based on their win percentage. No one cares about ELO, but they’re *forced* to care, because playing with inexperienced players is *miserable*. They don’t know what to pass, how t...

ELO is fine. BGA Hearts is a different game than traditional Hearts.

Boardgame's arena ELO implementation is fine. There are alternate ranking systems, like true skill, but changing the ranking system would do nothing to solve the issue many people perceive as "an ELO issue for Hearts". The real issue is that there are two versions of Hearts. - Traditional ...

Re: ALTERED: EXPLORE THE UNEXPECTED!

Guys, the demo decks you are using in this BGA version are available for free in the official website of Altered. Quite true. Hence the surprise about closing the digital version in BGA. Why are they fine with people playing the physical starter decks for free as print an play but not so in this di...

Re: Confirm Button for Production Phase

I think there is no confirmation for: - Selecting which kind of disk (food/rock) to use when there is a choice. - Selecting which technology is researched among the two offered. Them, like choosing production, are quite simple. I think confirmation is well done. Having to confirm even such simple ac...

Re: Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding the rules?

If I recall correctly, the game allows trying to perform illegal actions.
And when done it shows an error about the action not being allowed and then you have to do something else.

Give it a try. If it acts as I described then it is not an error.

Re: People who kick out players

Nobody should be penalized or have fingers pointed for playing under the site and table rules. Rules which include expelling a player for being more than 20 seconds out of time in real-time tables or whatever it is in turn-based. There are several reasons for doing so but none are actually needed. T...

Re: Players not trying to win

Very rarely is winning unattainable, just unprobable Indeed, euro game designers generally try to keep all players engaged in the game as much as possible. I'll discuss probabilities at a later time. But for the case of unattainable winning, consider this scenario. Player P has 5 points Player X ha...

That is totally correct.
And an acknowledgment of difference between 2nd and later places. Later places are not the first loser.
Since they are different, it is no wonder that some people prefer 1st loser over 2nd loser when winning is unattainable.
