Re: Best Echoes Cards

I hate Deodorant because it is bad if it gets covered then splayed right. At that point you can't dogma a yellow card without spamming your own board.

It is good for a quick indiscriminate tech up to age 4, though.

One ore and one runestone, not stone.

Re: Points game

If you prefer a points game to a race game, Sagani is a similar design by Rosenberg that has a scoring system instead and a different tile drafting method. It is in development on BGA and already available at Yucata.

Re: Loosing points in areas/groups

That is not quite right. You score all groups of one colour at a harvest, not just the biggest group. That said, you generally don't want two disconnected groups of the same colour as they will both score poorly relative to a single bif group, because of the subtraction of the die's pip value from e...

If you use an occupied dice spot, you pay the face value of your die.

Re: Does Tools Work Properly with Fewer Than 3 Cards?

Note that Tools can be a little fiddly--without an undo, it can be easy to accidentally return cards for dogma 1 when you actually want to skip dogma 1 and return a 3 for dogma 2. Say you have only two cards in hand and one is an Age 3 card--it is easy to forget to skip the first dogma and hang on t...

Re: Does Tools Work Properly with Fewer Than 3 Cards?

Yeah, this is a bug: it skips the dogma if you don't have 3 cards, even though it is legal to return fewer if you have only 1-2 cards. Make a report and I'll thumb it.

Re: First Turn Advantage

It would be easy to answer this question empirically if you have the tech knowhow--just do an analysis of a large sample of games on BGA. I don't think the issue is cut and dried. Good players will try to take advantage of an opponent's eagerness to take the first tile from the centre, by making the...

Re: How to play against Berserkers?

Nonsense. I win against the Berserker a lot. You do need to draft wisely against it though, and adjust the pace of your game--pick fast moving troops like Mercenary, Scout and Light Cavalry for instance. The Berserker is slow to get going.

Re: It's a Wonderful World Strategy Guide

The odds of getting no yellow cards and no cards which score for financiers over 4 rounds is vanishingly low. I guess it can happen but this is so small a chance that blaming randomness is like blaming card games in general, rather than a knock on this particular game. You need to accept some chance...
