Guildes

We are proud to introduce today Guildes, a draft+majority card game from Fred Bizet, published by Bad Taste Games.

Play it now.

Guildes is a card game played in 3 rounds with 10 different kind of cards. Each round starts with a draft phase (you keep one card, and give the rest to your neighbor), and ends with a playing phase during which you play all cards one by one, simultaneously, except 2 of them that will be discarded.

At the end of each round, there is a scoring. For the first round scoring we are using the numbers at the top left of the cards; for the second round scoring the numbers at the top-center of the cards; and for the third round scoring the numbers at the top-right of the cards. For each scoring, the player with the most cards of each type scores the highest number, then eventually players ranking 2nd, 3rd (and sometimes 4th) also get points.

And this is it for the base game! Once you have mastered it, you can play with the 2 variants, introducing respectively special events and special powers.

Guildes is a very nice, pleasant and fast card game, and is very, very easy to learn. We had a lot of pleasure discovering and playing this game, and we hope you'll enjoy it too!

BGA would like to thank Bad Taste Games and Fred Bizet for their authorization to have this game here.

Guildes adaptation for BGA has ben developed by Ludovic Bezzar using BGA Studio. A big thank you Ludovic for your work on this game !

Enjoy!

have enjoyed my games so far.

is there any way to indicate the initial value level of each guild on the endgame statistics screen ? i suspect that there is no optimal strategy due to the card drafting .. but i'd be curious as to whether the rank of the guilds affects how often winning players focus on each guild. currently with just the names, and in non.ranked order, it's much more challenging to decipher a pattern (i've dummied the data into my own excel spreadsheet, but not sure that effort should be necessary lol).

current order:
Knights guild votes 14.25 12.23 13.9
Scholars guild votes 11 8.78 9.95
Alchemists guild votes 2.25 6.77 5.96
Nobles guild votes 18.25 13.75 15.22
Burgesses guild votes 18.5 11.47 13.58
Priests guild votes 15 15.07 16.71
Craftsmen guild votes 2.75 7.37 8.53
Buskers guild votes 12.5 6.02 6.95
Bandits guild votes 17.5 10.17 12.43
Fishermen guild votes 3.5 4.86 5.28
Militia guild votes 15 14.64 17.93

proposed order:
Alchemists (14) guild votes 2.25 6.77 5.94
Priests (13) guild votes 15 15.07 16.66
Nobles (12) guild votes 18.25 13.75 15.27
Knights (11) guild votes 14.25 12.22 13.95
Burgesses (10) guild votes 18.5 11.47 13.61
Bandits (9) guild votes 17.5 10.16 12.39
Scholars (8) guild votes 11 8.77 9.93
Craftsmen (7) guild votes 2.75 7.37 8.5
Buskers (6) guild votes 12.5 6.02 6.93
Fishermen (5) guild votes 3.5 4.86 5.27
Militia (3) guild votes 15 14.63 17.93

The rulesheet doesn't indicate how many copies of each card there are, aside from 15 military cards. Where can I find this information?

Each of the different guilds has a number of cards matching the number of votes you get for having the majority of that guild.
Number of 1st Round votes = Number of copies of that card
