RAILWAYS OF THE WORLD: I choo-choose you!

“Our life is a constant journey, from birth to death. The landscape changes, the people change, our needs change, but the train keeps moving. Life is the train, not the station.”

-Paulo Coelho.

Let me introduce you to a deep but familly-friendly train game: The Railways of the World Series:

Railways of the World is the most recent version of the base game for Eagle-Gryphon Games' popular Railways of the World series, first published as Railroad Tycoon in 2005. It reimplements the original game with several improvements.

Revisit the early days of the Age of Steam as you begin with a locomotive (the venerable John Bull, the first locomotive to run in North America) and a vision (your Tycoon "mission" card). From there, build your budding railroad network into a vast empire. Connect New York to Chicago, earn the most money, develop bigger and faster locomotives and maybe even span North America and build the Transcontinental Railway!

You will be able to whistle all the way through the eastern half of the United States, but if that is not enough, you will be able to choose a map from 5 available: Travel through Mexico (4 players max), discover Great Britain rails (up to 5 players), take a break in Portugal (4 players max), or just see the other coast of the USA with the Western U.S map!

This game is preceded by the designer's other Winsome train games: Age of Steam, Australian Railways, Volldampf, New England Railways, Veld Spoorweg, Lancashire Railways, and Ferrocarriles Pampas. Railroad Tycoon was the result of a collaboration with Glenn Drover, in which the mechanisms and game-play of Martin Wallace's Age of Steam were simplified and streamlined. Attractive high quality components were added in order to make Railroad Tycoon more appealing to less hardcore gamers and more accessible to a wider audience.

You can play it now on BGA, by just clicking here:

Oh, and you will be able to select many more options to suit your beloved gameplay, like mines, bidding style, city rotors (for Westerrn US map) and more... There is so much to discover! You can play with 2 to 6 players in an hour. Such a big deal!

We are proud to bring you this game thanks to the cooperation of the publisher, Eagle-Gryphon Games, and of course the game designers, Glenn Drover and Martin Wallace (yes).
Also, let's celebrate the wonderful work done by our developer, WetDogIsHappy, who made a wonderful adaptation for us. The game plays beautifully, there are plenty of options for you to choose, and it is a very clean adaptation of the game for you to play on Board Game Arena.

We really wish you will enjoy it as much as we do.
There are always surprises on BGA, but that's it for this week.
We would like to send you our warmest thanks for being such an awesome community.
So please, take care of each others during this holidays season. And spread love all around you.

See you next week!

Awesome! Great to see. These are the types of games I love to see added to BGA.

Are there plans to do other games in the series like "Steam Rails to Riches"?

And...
Railways of North America
Railways of Australia
Railways of Sweden

and of course the full blown transcontinental US map (especially since I don't own a table large enough to play my physical copy)!

This is a great addition to BGA. I played the beta version - only shame is that the interface is very clunky. Too much zooming in/out and scrolling up/down to see the whole board. Great game, though.
