A LOT of updates on BGA
Posted: 05 June 2015, 10:03
These last weeks, we decided to focus on some improvements that you were asking us for a long time.
The list of these improvement is quite long, but we'd like to take the time to share it with you. Here it is:
Menu during the game
With this new menu, we hope to make more explicit the "meta" actions you have during a game. The new menu looks also much simple.
Chat during the game
Chat and game history are now in different places. Previously, it was quite hard to check chat history as it was "flooded" by game history.
In addition, you can now start a chat anytime during the game by directly pressing any keyboard key (you don't have to use your mouse). So if you want to chat, you just have to type your message and press enter. Simple.
Smileys and predefined messages
We added a little "meeple" icon next to all new docked chat window. By clicking on it, you can now insert a meeple smiley in your messages, and also insert a pre-defined message like "Good Game!".
Notes for turn-based games
In your turn-based games you can now take some notes. This way you can remember what you had in mind even if your next move will be played hours later.
Email invitations
When you invite an offline player at a table, you can now choose to send him/her an email.
Time joker for turn-based ("holidays" feature)
This is summer time soon, and you may be offline during some days. This is why we introduced "time joker": 4 times each year, you can use a time joker to have a +4 days of thinking time on all your turn-based tables.
It's your turn notification
We add some additional visual effects when it's your turn. On the status bar:
... but also on browser title, so you can see that it's your turn even if you are displaying another browser tab:
Note that we also fix the issue that were causing too many "it's your turn" sound when playing several moves in a row.
Table access restriction without respecting the restrictions
Now, if you want to restrict the access of a table, you have to respect the restriction yourself.
Example: if you want to restrict the access of a table to those with <10% leave penalties, must have <10% leave penalties yourself.
Example 2: if you are "Average level", you can't set a table restricted to "Expert only".
No more turn-based limit
We remove the maximum number of games you can play simultaneously using turn-based mode. Yeah
Disable specific sound
We added a "no sound" sound choice in your sound preferences, so you are now able to disable a specific sound that is annoying you.
Plus some details about turn-based...
Now it is possible to give a up/down thumb after a turn-based game (even if it has been abandoned).
We also automatically close tables where a single move hasn't been played since 30 days.
