didn't really want to mess with the css ... just wanted to replace the background woodgrain image with something green.

so for those looking to make just that one minor change, here's the code to use:

Code: Select all

html,body {
height:100%;
background-image:url(INSERT URL FOR NEW BACKGROUND IMAGE HERE);
}
Image

for the felt green background, i used: http://www.craftsuppliesforless.com/ima ... tsheet.jpg

to preview my custom style : http://boardgamearena.com/?use_custom_style=4034279

to undo the preview click this link: http://boardgamearena.com/?use_custom_style=0 (this is also the link to use if you need to temporarily access the Bug section of the forum)

Yes, automatic translation can sometime have some surprising results :)
Fixed it, thanks!
It's not necessarily the best word in English to start with. While it is sometimes used to generically mean something like "advertise" or "show off," it still comes from a male who controls prostitutes. A more generic usage of the word doesn't bother me - it might offend some - but it still sounded weird when I read the title of the thread, like what the heck does that mean? It does sound a little strange.

Well... since someone pulled this thread back up...

On our advanced page it says:
You can share your custom style with others by pointing them to this URL: http://boardgamearena.com/?use_custom_style=79301362
Except that is just taking me back to the home page. I don't understand that.

And how do we save something permanently? I can't do this myself but I've used other people's, but it doesn't save it for when I come back.

I like that black, though some stuff is hard to read. I realize that's a work in progress.

preferences -> advanced brings up the page where you would edit in your custom css. once you add something there, you click on the 'save' button below the editing window.
clicking on the 'use custom style' link always takes you back to the home page, with whatever custom style activated being applied (even none).

in my experience, the custom css sticks around until you click on another 'use custom style' link. but any tabs / windows that were previously open will still have the original CSS until you refresh the window / tab.

Hi,

So I opened up a new tab to look at a css display that someone said was cool (and it kind of is). However, I thought it would only affect the tab that I had opened it in. Wrong. It took over any board game arena tab I have. How do I get it back to normal?

Thank you!

Is it just me, or is it impossible to customize the forum? From what I can tell there's an iframe for the forum content and the custom.css doesn't affect the forum at all. (I'm trying my hardest to get rid of the wooden planks everywhere :lol: )

View my current style:
(Greys scheme with small change on player cards. - I didn't like the fat usernames)
http://boardgamearena.com/?use_custom_style=84337582

My style's code:

Code: Select all

body {
background-image:none;
background-color:#999;
}

.player-board {
border-radius:6px;
background-color:#DDF;
}

.player-name {
font:16px courier;
}
[/size]

what's been going on lately with the site displays ?

i've had screen elements appear in different places than normal, forcing me to have to resize the page up then back down to get it back to my preferred layout.

then today, my custom CSS background is no longer displayed during games (still gets applied outside of games). is this kind of tomfoolery going to be ongoing ?
