Board Game Arena is composed of 2 main parts: the games, and all the rest, what we call the Metasite: the lobby, the homepage, reputation/ranking systems, tournaments, player pages, game pages, and so on...
We are now looking for a Metasite Lead Programmer.
By recruiting this new developer, we want to do be able to do more evolutions on the BGA Metasite side, and to bring it to the next level of quality.
... and of course, we would love to hire this new member of the team from the BGA Studio developer community

~~ Software maintenance and evolution of the Board Game Arena "Metasite" (ie: everything except the games and the game framework). You will work in close collaboration with our UX designer and artistic director to improve the BGA service and create new functions.
~~ Management of the freelance developers hired to make specific evolutions on the Metasite.
~~ (shared responsibility with other team members) management of the Metasite in the BGA production environment.
Hard skills:
--------------
~~ Full stack developer with at least 4-5 years experience in software development.
~~ PHP, Javascript, MySQL, CSS, HTML5; knowledge of other programming languages appreciated but not required.
~~ Linux, shell scripting and Linux system administration: the basics are absolutely needed, and if you know more it will be a great advantage for the position.
~~ Ability to adapt to imperfect code: keep in mind that BGA is a 10 years old project and was a spare time project at the beginning - we need someone that can accept to work on imperfect (and sometimes undocumented) code to make it better
~~ Fluent in English (in speech and writing); speaking French appreciated but not required.
~~ Having already developed a game on BGA studio is appreciated but not required.
