Starting player marker

Is there any existing convention on how to display starting player in the game? Some reserved icon? Where to put it?

As far as I see, every single 1st/active player token is different(most have their specific 1st player markers). Most are placed to the right in the player stats display, wherever there is space.

The Battle for Hill 218 has static order markers placed at the lower left edge of the player stat display.
