Sandbox Hackatron

Post by Victoria_La »

Hi Studio Developers!

I am really glad we have a lot more developers now, and a lot more games is being published, which is really amazing for this site and for boardgames
community. As part of the fun I propose all interested party to participate in sandbox hackatron week during which we will attempt to
use sandbox studio tools to create a simple games. The purpose of this exercise:
* Have fun
* Find bugs in Studio code
* Fix bugs in Studio code (with help of Een or however has access to this project)
* Update wiki documentation is something is missing
* Measure time it took you to do it, so we have some data for people who want to do it themselves
* Have lots of examples of working games for future developers
* Create more games for user (but its not main point of this specific run)

And to have more fun we can vote on best game adaptation after its done. We need very simple games for this, maybe some classics, card games, etc.
Any interest?

Hi Victoria_La

I find that it is a great idea however we need to find easy games to implement... And that is the tricky part (from my point of view)
As examples checkers oŕ chess could be implemented but as they already exist...
However I am thrilled by the Sandbox :D

If you have some games' idea maybe I could take some time in the next 2 weeks.

There are bunch of classic card games we can do, checkers has few flavor of rules some, some checker like games with are no checkers (like Chinese checkers on the chess board), some pen & paper games we played as kids? I did battleships already but I think there were few more...
We can ask on general forum too

I wouldn't, but it seems a good game to practice the most basic things on.

hello
1- Game of the Goose
simple and you can reduce the size of the board.
2- War (card game)
but you need to use a deck.

I posted question on public forum here (about the games)

Does Sandbox handle card decks?
