Date & inventor

Post by DrKarotte »

Is there any reason that the dedigner Clifford Von Wickler and the date 1931 are listed here?
The pen & paper game seems to have no known designer and is older, dating back at least to World War I.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(game).

Clifford Von Wickler is not even mentioned on this page.

Actually this name came from BGG, but yes it's unclear who is the actual designer of the pen&paper game:

And yes also for the date, the pen & paper version doesn't have a real date, 1931 is the date of the first "not pen & paper" edition, so maybe it would be better to put in something like 1900.
