Why always the same civilization?

Post by Matthewshy » 02 December 2019, 21:30

I have played several games in a row, always with the same civilization, can you explain me why? Am I doing anything wrong?

That is the problem with randomness. It can be the same and you don't know when it will change.
You would not complain having always 4 aces in poker ?

Just looked, In Matthewshy first 6 games got Ephesos each time :o

That's 7 ^ 5 = 1 in 16,807 chance of getting the same wonder.

Only just shy of 1 in 20,825 chance of getting 4 cards with the same rank.

Then you had Gizah, Halikarnassos, Gizah, and Babylon after that.

Randomness does not mean that highly improbable situations (like 6 Ephesos in a row) cannot happen.

Yes, and probability tells you just how likely that it will happen.
Get out a deck of cards and deal yourself 4 cards at random. Keep repeating this until you get 4 of the same rank.

Come back afterwards and tell us if you think it's worthwhile highlighting the fact or not. :D
