Difficulté du jeu

Post by diamant »

Bonjour,

Hi

I think I understand the questions, but cannot reply in French.

In fact in the 2nd edition 4 markers were added.

The difficulty "Transport Master" uses all the 24 markers.
In the 3 other variants 2 markers are removed from the game, all the markers being "Pilot banned" markers:
Easy: "Low Water / coal +1" and "High Water / coal -1" marker
Normal: "Low Water" and "High Water"
Hard: "Low Water / coal +1" and "High Water"

The whole terminology ("difficulty", "hard" etc.) is taken from the English rulebook of the 2nd edition.

Thank you for your answer. Here’s what I think I understand :

In the box of the first edition, there are 20 demand markers, including the 6 "banned pilot" markers as follows :
- low water (2×)
- high water (2×)
- low water/coal +1 (1×)
- high water/coal -1 (1×)
So, the likehood to get a "banned pilot" marker during the first round is 30 %, or 22.2 % with the variant.

In the box of the second edition, there are 24 demand markers, including the same 6 "banned pilot" markers. So the likehood to get a "banned pilot" marker during the first round is 25 % with the Transport Master option, or 18.2 % with the other options.

Is it right ?

Should be correct, and makes sense:

The idea of adding new markers was to reduce the likelihood to draw a pilot banned marker.
The likelihood to draw such marker should be higher in the transport master variant.

sort of on the same lines:

isn't there a game option where you would play with the export country markers face up? Like a 'planner' mode?
