Confused about tie breaker

I just played a game (arena mode) and two of us tied. I had more money which I thought was the tie breaker, but he won. Is there a different tie-breaker on BGA in arena mode than in the standard rules?

tie breaker is the amount of leftover money after converting money (in groups of 10) to points.
