"Resigned" tournament game - what's my line?

Post by Lammkeule »

Hello!

My opponent resigned a tournament game of Carcassonne with 42% game progress. He obviously doesn't see a winning chance anymore and said "gg" in the chat. At the moment he still has 2 days left to play, I still have 7 days left.
I know I can just kick him out of the game when he has no time left but then I only get 42% of the Elo points, is that correct?
What would happen if I just wait until the next round starts, I think in that case I wouldn't get any Elo points at all since the game would be aborted?
Thanks for your answer!

Best regards,
Keule

You would gain the 42% elo just like if you skip him. When a round ends it doesn't show a visible elo number change but if you go check your log for game history and elo you will notice it jump up and down between games where there was a a timeout in between two matches. You still get the gain it just doesn't create a log entry along with that gain.

Ok, thank you! It was a bit confusing that the elo change is not shown at an aborted game...
