missing zoom rate

Post by Jigen and kazuki »

Was there an update in 24 hours?
After that, zoom rate is not saved.
Before the update, I was be able to set zoom rate for game window and lobby individually and I did not need to set it again.
But now, once I change zoom rate in a game, the rate is still the same when I come back to lobby.
Then I need to change whenever I play and end game.

That is very uncomfortable and inconvenient.
Small zoom rate is preferable in games because I need to see board widely to catch situation.
Can it be fixed as previous version?
My browser is Google Chrome ver. 74.0.3729.131.

There probably was an update of some sort -- I noticed the colors of several objects were different.

Hi

In fact, until now, Board Game Arena was using several web domains to provide its main service (ex: boardgamearena.com, en.boardgamearena.com, 5.boardgamearena.com, ...).

For many good reasons, we changed that, and some users can already enjoy some benefits (ex: better mobile notifications handling, better mobile web app,...).

We were not aware that some of you was using this defect to adjust the zoom level. This is unfortunate, but we cannot move this back.

I would recommend you to look for a plugin that allow you to do the same thing without having to rely on a BGA defect.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the quick responses and potential explanation sourisdudesert !

as i outlined in the pimp topic: https://boardgamearena.com/#!forum/view ... 6&start=33

when i load the game page, i am getting the player info sidebar between the main gameboard on the left and the game chat on the right, pushing down the other game elements to below the main gameboard.

Image

the behaviour i am having an issue with in zooming:
1. zooming in to 110% moves the player info sidebar above the chat (where it had always normally been)
2. zooming back down to 90% brings up the game elements that had been pushed down below the main board to sit between the main board and the player info / game chat sidebar.

Image

upon reloading the page after those adjustments, i should get all those elements in the same place due to the chrome browser saving the zoom settings of that page.

however, instead, i get back to the initial display - player info sidebar between the main gameboard and the chat sidebar with other game elements pushed down below the main board.

so i'm not sure what 'defect' you are referring to that was a result of running multiple servers. whatever CSS wrapping behaviour you are using to try to make the site more mobile friendly apparently is messing up some of your desktop users.

this still MIGHT be an issue with a recent chrome update - it's been an almost daily routine now to update chrome. but the CSS behaviour of this site as outlined is still wonky. if i start with 90% zoom and end with 90% zoom, i should see the game elements in the same place .. but i don't.
