Proposal: Carcassonne Team Mode

Post by Robo65 »

Hello,

I am playing in the Koch Media Carcassonne League since 2003, and one of our favourite Competitions is "Team Mode". 4 Players, playing two against two. The scoring is basically the same as in a normal four player game, but the points of both players of a team are added.

I know, this can also be done manually, but some players value their ELO points, so it would be important that the members of the winning team get winner's ELO points at the end. It would also be useful if the game showed the added team score automatically.

Greetings
Robo

I never tried but I thought about it too.
So I suppose that it can interest some players !
An important difference between the IRL situation is the communication between players of the same team.
I don't know if there are already games by team and how this aspect is managed.

Communicating is a difficult point. You have to accept that teams communicate. Nobody can check if a prohibition is being followed.

Unless you play real time and share the same voice chat. But that is not always possible.

And maybe those games should not be given ELO points...

This is a good proposal.
We played with this rule for a while. it's intresting.
carcassonne rule allow people to share cities or roads in a game, which is not used well in 1vs1
while in 2vs2, members in the same team can share things to gain more scores.
