Scandinavian Scenario

Post by SgtKrueger »

Hello

I cannot find how to make an amphibious assault on Oslo.
When I move the transport to the sea zone n°12, I have the following message : Naval units do not remain “out at sea”
It is not possible to move the convoy directly on Oslo.
How can I attack Oslo ?

Thanks

You have to follow rulebook in order :

- Place a surprise attack marker in sea zone 12.

- Activate ground unit in a port.
- Click on Naval Transport (ground unit embarks on convoy)
- Active or not an escort (surface action create a naval escort for your invasion)
- Click on amphibious invasion (valid targets are in red, ports and adjacent hexagons in sea zone 12)
- Select coastal target (Oslo or hexagon east to it)

Thanks for playing.

Hi Lunaol,
I found this thread where it is better to respond.
I finally worked out the procedure,
Here is what I do from the very beginning.
- Attack Den 1 with Ger 18
- I retreat in the north so in the nex turn I can conquer Copenhagen
- Next turn: conquer Copenhagen with Ger 18
- if I select air unit Ger 5 Luftwaffe I CANNOT send it to Aalborg, it maximum to hex 2022 not above
- I put the Surprise Attack on hex 1822 marked with seazone “12”
- I activate german infantry on the Kiel hex stacked with the naval convoy
- I press the Naval Transport button above
- I select the Surfacce Action as esecort
- I press the amphibious invasion button
- attack Oslo
The only thing I did not understand is: why I cannot put the Luftwaffe marker on Aalborg ?
Thanks for your help!

When I play this scenario, I don't invade Copenhagen but Aalborg.
So I can put my air unit in Aalborg.

From rulebook:
13.2.2 Conquered Country
Important: Until an enemy unit moves into a conquered country’s city, that city is still friendly to the faction that controlled it at the time the country collapsed. Occupation takes soldiers and time.
So you have to invade Aalborg with a unit if you want put air unit in it.
You have only two months in this scenario, so you don't have enough time to invade Copenhagen & Aalborg.

Thanks for playing.

PS: If you have bad weather, you can try to move your air unit to Kiel an place an airdrop marker on Copenhagen. You will have 50% chance to invade Copenhagen and conquer Denmark. In campaign mode, you can't do that because you have Germany West Front restriction in Home Defense Policy.

I got stuck in the same way ( by the way thanks Lunalol for the quick reply!) but still eperiencing the same problem of being stuck with no movement.
Will follow the action list above and report. But the point is that if I try to move a naval transport to a city I control (for example Copenhagen after conquering denmark) I get the "out at sea" error message, even if I am NOT leaving the convoy out of sea but moving it from Kiel to Copenhagen.
Will report soon if succeed to work out the action list as above.
Are you sure that you really control Copenhagen?
Copenhagen hex could be blued because it's also a strait.
If you really control it, it's a bug and I will fix it.

Thanks! I read that rule but did not get the implications right.

Double checked: I first moved a troop in Copenhagen then moved the convoy and it works.
Thanks again for your patience.
