Texte français des cartes

Post by diamant »

Bonjour,

I'm trying to figure out what this means. Since it translated to say the colons are "inventions of the English text," I'm assuming this means the original English strings, which could be changed in the translator.

I see nothing in the original English that has been changed since I did some things almost a year ago, so nothing has changed recently. I don't see a problem in the English game with the colons and am not seeing where this is causing a problem. I did go into one of your games and the mouse-overs are not in French, even though other things on the page are in French. So I'm still seeing the same thing as how it looks in English.

Could you or someone re-write this directly in English maybe? My misunderstandings could be partially due to the machine translation. I don't understand what the issue is with the colon and capital letters and lower case letters and where the problem is with that. It's also sounding like something has changed, and nothing in the English text has changed.

(If this can be fixed in the original English, this probably ought to be up in the Translation forum anyway. But I may be totally confused as to that issue.)

I believe diamant is saying that the ":" following the Sun/Moon icon of the character card tooltips are unsightly and unnecessary. In addition to restoring the capitalization of the initial letters on the French character card tooltips.

I agree on both points.

These strings.

OK, I see what you're talking about and that you already fixed the colon. I guess I don't see it as "unsightly" though I also don't see the point of having them. (Definite over-use of colons around here.)

I didn't even think to put symbols in the search! I did a bit with this game when I saw stuff in context but would have had no idea how to find all 30 cards (easily).

EDIT: Also posted a link to this in the Translations since we can't do anything with the French.
