Tutorial: how to use traditional Hanafuda card images in Koi-Koi

Post by flicky1984 »

It's possible to use your own custom graphics with Koi-Koi (or any game on BGA) without requiring the site to change or add features.

One Click Activation (no longer possible) Alternative methods (pick one only if you don't want to use the above!) Image Credit
I have repurposed graphics from gamedesign.jp — so many thanks and credit to them for their beautiful card images!

The CSS
https://gist.github.com/gingerbeardman/ ... fe01c4aebc
- smaller, more traditional card designs
- simplify screen layout
- style table, deck, cards
- disable sorting, reordering, animation

The JavaScript (optional)
https://gist.github.com/gingerbeardman/ ... 49b4aeb61d
- discard by clicking on table
- capture first available card by clicking on table
- press control key to click table
- highlight matching cards

Do this either natively or using an extension, no need to do it both ways!

Latest CSS has option for even more old-traditional card images, as well as the modern-traditional card images you see above.

Looks pretty great! Love those old card
However i can't make it working right from my side, and have no idea what i am doing wrong.

Are you only supposed to make these 2 simple steps?
1/click: https://boardgamearena.com/?use_custom_style=85048132
2/ and then, directly play koikoigame

I am running it on Chrome btw.
(i also tried the Advanced Medium CSS option, but with no better results)

On another subject, i am kinda new here, is there a way to display the yaku on a side panel? (I have to scroll the window each turn all the cards)

Hi, sorry for the slow response.

Yes, it should be as easy you've said. I just tried it now on my Mac Desktop and it works as intended.

Maybe try force refreshing the page (usually shift click the reload button) or clearing your browser cache?

@Shobu BGA have disabled Easy method, so now the only methods are Normal & Expert.

Wow, lots of thanks!
I'm a bit afraid to try that as I'd be very disoriented, but I think I will some day.
