We had a Carcassonne tournament with 50 participants. Using the Swiss system, and only 5 matches.
Two players had 5 wins 0 losses, and 8 players(!!) had 4 wins 1 loss.
My point is: With 50 participants 5 matches are too little using the swiss system. At least 6 matches and rather 7 to establish a top 10 with different wins. Yes, I know there is a system to differ the same win-draw-loss, but it's much better to do it with adding matches.
At least it must be enough matches so the players with 0 losses meet at least once.
