Mini-Games while waiting for players?

So, it might not be possible, but there's some games that take longer than usual to find players. Maybe little games to play against a computer or against other players. Not necessarily tic-tac-toe, but something similar that is short in length of gameplay? Can't Stop might be good, or even something simple like rock-paper-scissors. We all obviously like competition, so really anything just to pass the time while you wait for more players in a game.

It's a really nice idea.

You can of course play words games, like you play in the car. 20 questions, word association, I spy perhaps. How many fingers? Or guess the colour of my shirt.

Actual games with very limited equipment, thumb wars and rock-paper-scissors spring to mind. There is the dexterity game you can play with just a coin and a table, but probably best ideas would be standard deck of card games, and perhaps Mia - liars dice with just 2 dice requirement.
