Bisshop vs princess

Post by Schrielegaard »

Why does the princess win vs a bisshop at the end of a game? During the game the princess loses to a bisshop when compared by using an earl. It surprises a lot of players that their bisshop loses to the princess. Even worse is that a countess which is buffed with counts wins from a princess. I'm consfused by these rules and was wondering if there is a clarifying explanation.

It's in the rulebook. It's not mentioned in the card description on BGA, but in the real version, the Bishop card does mention that it loses to Princess at the end of round.

That's just how it is.

Regarding Countess(+2 Counts) vs Bishop vs Princess a lot of discussion has occured, as they are in a rock-paper-scissors formation. Eithter they all lose, or all win. But consensus agrees the Countess should win. But not sure if implemented on BGA https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/174951 ... rincess-co

I'm not sure where this "consensus" comes from, but apparently AEG said the Princess wins: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1674073/race-condition
I find it weird that Princess should win if there's a Bishop, but Countess+2 wins if there isn't. I think it would be much easier to justify (and maybe that was the intent?) if the rule was that whenever the Princess remains at the end, she always wins, and the numbers + discards are only compared if there is no Princess.
