Memorizing convention without understanding - Playing 1's in black games

I guess it’s not completely true that one of your 1s must be playable after the first play. You could have held 1x 1x 1x 1k, where x is the same colour for all three occurrences. But if that’s the case, wouldn’t you expect to receive a correction?

(Or not receive the 1s clue in the first place. The left could have been bluffed, if they didn’t want to mark all those 1s. The fact that it wasn’t hints that they did want to mark all the 1s.)

In fact, 1r 1r 1r 1k would be better clued as red, and then 1s only after the first play. So we can discount that case.
