What is the tie braker in Color Pop?

It says the number of your tokens taken by your opponent but does it mean the number should be as little as possible or as big as possible. In many games when I got tied with another player and I took fewer his tokens than he took mine, I won. But then in a recent game I took less tokens (6) of my tied opponent than he took mine (12) and I lost the game. So I don't know anymore what's the tie braker rule in Color Pop :/

The usual tie breaker is least tokens left (normal goal) then least tokens of your color on your side. The number should be the highest to win a tiebreak bc the tiebreaker score is tokens of your color taken by all your OPPONENTS, not just the tied one.
