cows

Post by water_mad »

ive a questions on cow optimaisation

1 cow - no good for anything
2 cows = you get a pregnant cow the next round and a baby cow the round after?? if so this means you arent getting baby cow to the end of round 4 ??

3 cows = do these still only make 1 baby between them ?

if so is it advised to buy 2 cows, let them make a third and that is then the optimum point to upgrade the 3rd (unpregnant) cow? or is there any advantage in holding onto 3 cows?

Usually the best strategy is to get 2 cows, then when one is pregnant do what you need to the other.

1 cow can be upgraded to a jacket, so one cow is still pretty decent to have even if you have no intention of starting animal breeding.

If you have two cows this round, one gets pregnant at the end of the round in breeding phase. This means the non-pregnant one is fair game for upgrading in the following round, and the pregnant one will still make a new cow at the end of that same round.

3 cows makes the milking action the most efficient action on the board—12 squares of red for one Viking. Great for houses or for upgrading to wool. So there is some use in having 3 cows. But it is also tempting to upgrade the non-pregnant cows quickly so that you can ramp up your income with the big green tiles.
