Is it rule breaking to telling the roles?

Post by Mine Hawk »

Hello everyone, I love talking but only "hello, gg, wishing you guys luck" etc but I can't stand when someone forces me telling the role. I wonder is it rule breaking or just a prefence?

I mean, it’s a social deduction game. You can always bluff about it. Asking and answering about roles is well within the rules, you just have no insurances that truths are told.

Or you can simply say « sorry, I’m not confortable talking about our roles » if you don’t want to simply ignore them.

This topic was discussed already:

Answer from BGA admin: "you are allowed to speak, to lie, or to say the truth."

Note that this game belongs to the "bluffing" category where often to say the least telling roles (or pretending) is allowed (Bang!, Mafia, Werewolves to name a few)

A look at the rules tells us that it is not allowed to "reveal" the roles (as in "explictely show the card" which you technically can't on BGA), but nowhere is to be found that you are not allowed to "tell".

Now nothing prevents you to play house rules, but they must be discussed before joining a game (basic etiquette).

Cheers,
Y.
