[GO44] Grand Opening - Round of 256

Hello officers !
Welcome to the first round of our Grand Opening tournament ! This is the first step of your long journey... as long as you win !
I'm glad that we got so many players to join us, expert from Days of Wonder but also totally new faces !


The scenario of this round is the Battle of Farebersviller. A simple scenario to start, one town as an objective medal and no special rules.

To create a custom game : simple game, real time play, manual table. Then select training mode, 2 ways, standard format, scenario from the front, DoW data base. If needed, i will give the .m44 file to load the scenario
When your opponant is there, load the game, BGA will then ask you to search for the .m44 file or in the database.
Choose KeLian_ as the author, this version of the scenario is rightfully set up for Online playing !

You have until Sunday 11th, 7pm (CET) to play this round. When you contact your opponant, please tell him/her your time zone as it can be different from yours !

As we are 245 players, some of you will have an exemption this round and will start in the round of 128 !

Just for awareness there appears to be a few misspellings/typos with people's user names that could be confusing. I was confused when I didn't see my username, but then found "akessel19" which should be mine as there is no user "askessel19." I found a similar error with "agnusNygaard" who I assume should be MagnusNygaard.

Some people may want to double check who their opponent is.

First round:
CesareRaf (Allies) 6 - Philippe Leray (Axis) 1
Commentary:
As the allies I used Air power on the German infantry and tank in the back to weaken those two units. Philippe first try to attack with the tanks on the Axis left flank, but both the one damaged at the start and the one starting from his left are destroyed. Once I have destroyed his tanks, I start maneuvering on my left flank to destroy its 2 infantries on that side. After some turns of shooting at each other from distance, Philippe commits the mistake of getting his infantry both in the centre and in its right flank out of the cities and of the forests, giving me the chance to score the final medals I need.

Second round:
CesareRaf (Axis) 6 - Philippe Leray (Allies) 2
Commentary:
Philippe playing as Allies did my same opening, Air power against my tank and infantry back in the center. Philippe this time doesn't get his infantry out and tries to entrench himself, but a series of bad rolls killed his chances. I launch an offensive with my two tanks scoring 5 medals on my left flank, and I take the final medal occupying the Allies city objective in the center (that Philippe left empty!)
