Apparently reaching 7 is possible, the opponents were playing normally (to win):

PS: Actually, I'm not sure low score was intentional from the beginning. It looks like on the 3rd age they just decided to give up.

They could even get 5 points if playing a red for 3 coins at age 3 hand 5.
