Clockwise and Counter-Clockwise

Post by JamesWolfpacker »

Which way is clockwise defined in the game? Passing down to the next player? Is passing ccw moving cards to the player at the bottom?

So when we pass to the left, we are passing down? And passing to the right means passing up?

This is my main complaint about this implementation. There should be a big arrow on the board indicating the direction cards will be passed so it's clear to everyone.

Yes, this needs to be made clearer, given how important passing direction is.

It's silly that the game refers to "clockwise" when there is no circular arrangement of anything. This was reported as a bug a year and a half ago:

https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=14681

It has a trivial solution - just replace "clockwise" with "top to bottom" - so the fact that nothing has been done about it in 18 months is pretty infuriating.

This still gets me all the time, even after I'm sure I've figured it out. Arrows would be terrific. Sometime to make it very clear.

I just posted a discussion topic on the BGA rules

https://en.doc.boardgamearena.com/Talk:Gamehelpsushigo

on this exact topic, because it was getting me irritated not knowing which direction the cards were being passed. Now, seeing the bug report, I just made the changes to the rules wiki to explain what "clockwise" means on BGA.
