IJA Cave Movement bug

Post by Waikirikiri »

Hello Players

I've just reported a bug regarding Japanese Infantry movement using caves.
Scenario: Meat Grinder
Table 372941311
Move 233
https://boardgamearena.com/archive/repl ... &goto=233#

Attempting to reposition some IJA infantry from the centre section to the right using an Infantry assualt.
Only the first unit moved was then able to attack. All of the moved IJA units should have been able to attack.

This is the bug - see the rules below.
Pacific Theatre Rules
◆Special Rules:
Only Japanese Infantry may use a Cave network to move from any Cave hex it occupies onto any other empty Cave hex as its entire movement for the turn. The unit may still battle.

Please vote for this bug if you agree it is a bug.

Is the bug that if you move two hexes in the caves you cannot attack? I reported it already earlier and I thought it was already fixed??

There was a similar bug that involved regular movement that I thought was fixed months ago. This seems like an echo of that bug that involves Infantry Assault. When IJA can move from one hex to another either overland or via a cave, the system picks the over land route, even if it's disadvantageous (by taking three hexes rather than one).
