Wanted to do some stats on my idea. Here is the result:
- 2.8%: lose a triple
- 16.2%: lose one use of 6
- 12%: lose your best ability
- 7.4%: lose your second best ability
- 4.2%: lose your third best ability
- 1.9%: lose your forth best ability
- 0.46%: lose your fifth best ability (66 roll, and extra worst dice)
- 55%: lose nothing
If you assume you only want one of 3 actions out of 5, that mean losing nothing is 58%. Which is lower than I though.

I think it increase skill. Choosing when you think you are fine and do your medium ability vs choosing when you think you need damage and use one or two xp to increase the chance of getting it look a really interresting decision. Especially when you ask the third player to do it and it impact what the first player will do.

And everything will make the game luck based, adding hp will just require you to roll one extra dice of damage. This is jut a different randomness.
