And we also do distinguish that as well. It's highlighted red if you are selecting it as part of a dogma, and blue if it's a normal meld/dogma at the start of your action.
weird, I'm not seeing any highlighting. Where do I find the preferences menu thing you refer to?

Click "Options" while in a game of innovation.
