Player base is too small to support a 3 player arena

Is it possible to revert the change to the arena? I'm concerned that changing arena to three players will kill the player base. It was hard to consistently get live games before with just two people. It will be even harder with three. Presumably, as people can't find games, they will be less likely to search at all, further decreasing the player base.
