What are the most difficult games in BGA?

Post by BlueJT »

Is there a way to filter out the games with difficulty 5/5?

I was "hoovering" them:
  • A feast for Odin
    Through the ages
    City of the big shoulders
    Dungeon pets
    Polis
These were the games I found.

Although this is true, it doesn't say much because:
- There is no definition what "complexity" means on BGA, let alone "difficulty".
- There is no definition what the numbers actually stand for and not even which numbers are allowed (Is 3.72 / 5 allowed? Is 0 / 5 allowed?).
- The number is given by the developer of this specific game and so it is depended on their personal game experience. It is not set in comparison to each other game on BGA.
- In some cases the number isn't set at all, it is only the default value, which is 3 / 5.

We started a discussion on "complexity" and other parameters on BGA here: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30423

In addition, https://boardgamearena.com/gamelist?complexityTag=4 does NOT list all games with "complexity" 3 / 5 to 5 / 5!
You might also take a look at Tinner's Trail, Madeira, Clans of Caledonia, La Granja, Arche Nova, Lost Ruines of Arnak, Agricola, Chocolate Factory,...

Language is a source of misunderstanding. (Antoine de Saint-Exupery: The Little Prince) But it is also the source of understanding - it all depends on how you use it. :-)
