Can't understand final counting

Post by yarkm13 »

That was my second game so maybe i can't understand counting properly.

In the final situation I was having among others 7 affiliated Allies:
Purple jellyfish — 4
Red crab — 3
Yellow seahorse — 2, 5
Green shell — 4
Blue squid — 1, 3

As rules say i should count "the highest value affiliated Ally of each race", my calculations gives me 4+3+5+4+3=19, but game awarded me with 20 which i can't understand.

Also rules say: "Finally, each player places (affiliates) the lowest-value Ally of each Race they still hold in their hands."

My hand before this step:
Purple jellyfish — 4, 4, 5
Red crab — 1, 4
Yellow seahorse — 2, 2, 4
Green shell — 3
Blue squid — 4

And affiliated
Purple jellyfish — no
Red crab — 3
Yellow seahorse — 5
Green shell — 4
Blue squid — 1, 3

So shouldn't correct final state be like

Purple jellyfish — 4
Red crab — 1, 3
Yellow seahorse — 2, 5
Green shell — 3, 4
Blue squid — 1, 3, 4

In this case total really will be 20. So it seems that game count points correctly, but show cards incorrectly. Also whey I see replay it present my final allies in other different way.

I will appreciate your help to understand calculations.

Your calculations look correct

The final steps are done in order :

1. First affiliate the lowest value of each race from your releasing hand to your affiliate allies

2. Then score for the highest affiliated ally of each race

This give 20 based on your example

I have seen the UI incorrectly display the cards in some scenarios at the end of the game which can be confusing. It happens when you have a loot location which gives you items at the end of the game also

If you refresh the page at final scoring it generally re-evaluates and shows the correct cards. I'll have a look and see if there is an open issue for this
