Cat color

Hi,
I choosed orange as my favorite color on premium options.
Shouldn’t it apply to the choice of orange cats ?
Or is it in the same spirit as chess where a color means 1st player?

I don't recall ever seeing a rule that the first player gets a specific color in Boop, but BGA seems to give the first turn player gray and their opponent orange. So at minimum, it's just standard policy BGAwise.
