ARENA Ranking point decrease - suggestion

hey all,
i think we need ARENA Ranking point decrease system for inactive player.
because the ranking system a lot of player stop playing once they hitting first place and because you can only gain a reasonable amout of points only against player higher/same level of yours, its become really hard to catch up no matter how much winning you get.
what you all think?

That brings other problems.

If you have a player playing only the first half of the season, climbing to #1, his points will get decreased then.

If instead he would have waited until half the season is over and then started playing in the second half, climbing to #1, he would keep all his points.

But in comparison, both played the same number of games with the same number of wins. Why should one get an advantage over the other?

I think whatever the ranking system is, some people will try to game it to gain an advantage.

so you suggest that its the numbers of winning determine and not importent against who you play, imagine it in any other game.
to win first place you most win against the high player, if you win unlimited people that dont know the game at all should you be first place?

It's your own mistake for not being around in the first half and play with them.
