where can I find the settimg of the color preference

I have lost my color preference setting for Carcassonne and unfortunately I cannot find where to set the color preference again.
Can somebody help me please?

Do I have to set it in my profile or in the game settings?

Note that
- All games don't have all colours
- If multiple players want the same colour, only one will get it

Can this explain your observations with Catan?
