Outdoor areas & flock

Post by Gobos »

So I just found out that increased enclosure capacity does not count for flock animals. Is this intentional or a bug?

Sounds like a bug, but I know this has worked in the past.

Do you have game id so we can check?

FOund the game and checked the replay.
It seems you end up with a size 3 flocker in your hand, but the largest herbivore in play you have is size 2.

Flocking looks at the size of the herbivore you have in play, not to your map and the filled enclosures.
So the size 3 can't ever flock with the size 2 herbivore. YOu can't point at a enclosure on the map and claim the size 2 herbivore is in a size 4.
The game never tracks which animal is in which enclosure. This is true for all maps.

Even if you only have a size 5 for instance on any map and put in a size 2 herbivore, you can't flock size 3+ with it.

On the rescue station map, you can even flock without having any enclosure (which is busted but is an other topic)

Flocking animals flock with other animals not with enclosures. To flock a kangaroo or a moose you need to have another herbi with a required enclosure size of at least 4. The actual enclosure they are in doesn't matter - whether it's a 5 size or a 2 size on outdoor areas.

Not a bug at all. Flocking looks specifically at the animal size and not the enclosure size. The game never knows what enclosure an animal is in.

That is just simply how flocking works.
