1 last thing: please climb to the 400+ as much as you can asap, and nominate to the tournaments as well!

Well, I'm currrently 400+, as undeserved as it seems, and have put a guru vote in for the next Arena season to be 2-player.

The only tournaments I've seen have been turn-based ones. Having played a bunch of turn-based in the past (and having thought about it more since my original post here) I think this is a game I would not enjoy in that format. I'm too lazy/forgetful. To play a good move you need to know stuff that happened earlier in the game. With turn-based, I certainly won't remember what has happened (I don't remember well enough in real-time already) and I'm too lazy to make notes and consult them---I'd rather just play a game where you can get all the info you need from the current game state.

Bow before me, your new king and #1 Linx player! And Elo manipulating fraud, as my internal voice, and sensible considered opinion, has it.

Things are better than when I started this thread. Then, I think most of my wins were coming against new players learning the game (Elo < 100) with lots on their first game or players who hadn't won yet (Elo 0 or 1). I've still had quite a lot of those, but I've had some great games against players currently in the 100-300 range. Often close, but I've usually come out on top, so I'm feeling like a top-20 slot is mostly earned.

But against players in the current top-20, from memory, I've lost to 2ya (current #2), won against puffer-fish (current #16) and had a great series of close ding-dong battles against our game designer Peleo (current #9), keeping a slight edge. I'm proud of that record, but it's not obviously the record of a #1.

Anyway, I'm not sure what my point is with all of this, other than to keep chatting about a game I'm really enjoying. I'm looking forward to the next Arena season, if that's what it'll take to get more high-Elo two-player real-time games. And I'll keep playing what I can until then, quite possibly plummeting back down the rankings.

Thanks to everyone I've played and, especially, to Peleo for my most fun games and for designing and sharing it all. I hope to see anyone who's reading this at the board! (Or table, or screen or whatever. I guess it's not really a board.)

The reign of terror comes to an end, after maybe three hours. A 2-0 loss to a very skilled and very friendly Bravotino. Well played!

If it is so frustrating, then come to tournaments. There maybe meet a couple of players who have more routine. :D
Or go to arena, where I have already lost 100+ points because of 3rd party blindness... :-) :D

I don't want to play turn-based for another month or so, because my access to BGA will be spotty and I'll use up all my time-jokers and annoy my opponents (even more than I usually annoy them :) ). And all the tournaments I've seen are turn-based. As I said in a previous post, I also have my doubts that I'll enjoy the game as much in a turn-based format, but I'll give it a shot in late August once I'm reliably online again.

Three-player seems unapealing too, but maybe I should give it a shot and test the theory. Perhaps I'll love it! But I'm sure it will feel very different than two-player.

In the meantime, I'll be strong and carry the awful burden of a higher-than-deserved Elo score. :)
