I must say, i'm also one of the desktop PC users and find the new "improved" home design not an improvement.
The new home screen is too crowded and too messy. Please find some middleground betweed tablet players and desktop players

Same. Initially saw the announcement banner but didn't realize the calendar was available because it's not even near the announcement but hidden between the clutter.
