Usability of the game

Post by nosavvy »

The game is really nice and quick.
Unfortunately the user frontend does not help verly much in understanding the effects of the cards. The mouseover just repeats to display what is on the card.

The iconography ist NOT self-explanatory.

I do also not understand why the effects are not explained in the official english rulebook.

The designer/author/editor must be very confident that EVERYBODY understands the effects without additional help....

There is an help sheet, visible in the (?) button on the bottom left of the screen. Have you seen it?

Thanks for this information.

This helps a lot and I will check if it explains all effects sufficiently.

Though, I would have preferred that this text would be displayed instead of the icons when "mouseover" over the respective cards.

I agree with no savvy here. That question mark isn't really prominent and having the full text explanations is much more accessible and helpful to new players.

Came here to agree. The iconography is very unintuitive and constantly bringing up the help menu to weigh up your options at every turn really makes the game grind to a halt. It would be a quick and easy fix to have the mouseover menu say the effect in a full sentence. I can't see myself playing this with my less hardcore family members. I feel like they will get overwhelmed by all the stuff on the cards and frustrated with the learning curve of assessing what a "good move" is.
