Prelude still being in alpha is bad for BGA's reputation

Post by UltraNeil »

I go to board game events and hear people complaining that Prelude is still in alpha. Some say to play on Steam instead. This can't be good for BGA's brand. Could we please get a confirmation that it is still being worked on? I think the lack of official communication does not help.

We've been posting about this for some time. There's never any official communication. Sigh. The BGA / parent company doesn't make enough money to pay someone to communicate. Best wishes.

Prelude is still under development -- there are just some bugs that are being addressed before beta can occur.

Say you don't understand how BGA works without saying you don't understand how BGA works..

I guess I don't know how BGA works. I'm just a customer giving feedback.

Glad to hear it's still being developed! Thanks for the update.

It's perfectly fine, thanks for the feedback. I know it's frustrating but sometimes bugs take substantial time to resolve all the corner cases, and this project has definitely not been abandoned.

The thing is that games are not developed by "the brand" BGA. BGA is a platform that allows the community to develop and play games. So while more and better quality implementations obviously are beneficial to Asmodee, they don't really have a role in "official communication" for specific games.

I'm just glad it's coming at all. I own the steam version and can't play it, as it seems more effort was spent on looks than functionality.
