Tips and tricks to become the best golfer at Golfie - By the Author

Post by Unigoat_Edition »

Golfie hides many subtle strategies that can make all the difference to players who master them.

If you want to improve your game and surprise your opponents, here are a few tips and strategies shared directly by the game's author:
  • Learn to read the terrain: every card location on your terrain has a higher or lower value. For example, the center card of your terrain can swap its position with 4 other cards, while the cards in the corners can only swap their position with 2 other cards. So you'll want to move a card to the center position to make it easier to move later.
  • Master the card-sliding effect: When you use the “Hole” action or perform a combo, the cards will slide upwards! By mastering your terrain and the sliding effect, you could create combos! Stay tuned.
  • Go for the horizon: Are you working on a combo and have the choice of positioning it horizontally or vertically? Always choose the horizontal! It's easier to complete a combo horizontally than vertically. The reason is the sliding of cards thanks to the “Hole” action. Think of the “Hole” action as the ability to move any column up a notch! It's a superpower.
  • Small in the front, big in the back: In a car, the small ones are in the back, but at Golfie, we want the small numbers in the front and the big ones in the back! When it comes to the “Hole” action, you'll always be grateful that you kept the small values up front.
  • Control your luck! Didn't anyone ever tell you that “everything is mathematical”? Luck is based on probability. Fortunately, on BGA, you always have access to valuable information, such as the number of cards of each value still present, the number of Action cards remaining to be drawn, and those already played. By consulting this information, you can deduce your chances of obtaining a given value by choosing a face-down card to complete the “Hole” action, or determine the probabilities of completing a combo by positioning your cards in a certain way according to the Action cards remaining.
  • Have fun! Finally, even the best golfer on this planet has bad days. So have fun and enjoy the great outdoors!
