What is the best color pair?

Post by dethwing »

So I took I plotted all 144 possible final positions for Red/Green, determined the winner, and then calculated how many spots win for each color, and where their centers are. I got:

Winner Count Avg_Red Avg_Green
Blue 24 4.83 4.83
Red 52 8.85 3.69
Green 52 3.69 8.85
Black 16 10.50 10.50

The most common are Red/Blue, followed by Blue, and then Black.

Finally, I calculated the distance between each color pair. For each point, I calculated how far it was from the center of each scoring area. I got:

Winner Dist_Blue Dist_Red Dist_Green Dist_Black
Blue 6.21 6.21 11.33
Red 6.25 10.33 9.08
Green 6.25 10.33 9.08
Black 11.33 8.46 8.46

Red/Blue and Green/Blue are the closest pairs, following by Red/Black and Green/Black.
The farthest apart are Red/Green and Blue/Black.

What inferences could be drawn from these?

One important question is whether the markers are equally likely to end up in each of those 144 positions. For example, are there more cards that move them forward or more cards that move them back?

Good Question!....I don't know!

My gut tells me there's more forward than backwards.
